Successful Tax Relief
At the April 8, 2013 City of North Vancouver Council meeting, LLBA President Bill Curtis made presentation with the support of one local business and one local property owner again urging the City to take steps to bring greater fairness to the City's commercial property tax rates. Council has agreed, and there will be no property tax increase for commercial properties. Commercial property owners have been paying about 4 times the rate for residential property owners. This helps to lessen that burden. LLBA's persistence over the past few years since its active involvement in a major study by the City has helped obtain this decision.
We plan to continue to lobby the City of North Vancouver to commit to lowering the commercial to residential tax ratio that will result in lower out of pocket amounts.
